Tomorrow night we're stopping off at a guesthouse in Vik, a tiny village on the coast, a must-see with spectacular cliffs, rock formations and black beaches, or so my Lonely Planet tells me (hopefully it will still be a tiny village by the time we get there) Our last night we're staying at a farm in Hvolsvöllur, yet another tiny Islandic village, where the hosts are going to cook us a traditional Icelandic dinner (we asked for fish just to be on the safe side), and we'll visit the beautiful park of Þórsmörk before returning "home" to Reykjavík.

"Ice"scapades
Tomorrow bright and early we're boarding the bus and setting off across the south of Iceland on a long-awaited "adventure within an adventure". We are heading for the Vatnajökull glacier region, and Höfn, a fishing village known for its lobster, actually also the home town of our Icelandic exchange partners, Erna and Eva. The Vatnajökull glacier is formed over several volcanoes and has an area of 8,100 km², which is 8% of Iceland, i.e. a lot of ice!

Great itinerary. I wonder what kind of fish for your meal - perhaps something really unusual.
