Within the Icelandic sector there were plenty of different colours, shapes and sizes of wrappers but no clues on the packaging as to content so I had to pick two at random.
I'm not fussy in the sweet department, so I settled down to enjoy my unknown samples. However, I was unlucky: the first, Draumur, turned out to be standard milk chocolate containing chunks of black liquorice - one of my pet hates. The second, Þristur, looked pretty harmless, and I was hoping for some wafer or toffee with the chocolate, but as I bit into it I found the chocolate was coating a chewy substance that tasted something like Turkish Delight, another one of those things that you love or hate, and I hate.
After this I'm not encouraged to continue the research so may well go back to icecream cones dipped in chocolate - a big local favourite I share.
Bad luck!
