They seem to adore their babies in Iceland - in fact apparently they've got the highest birthrate in Europe. Reykjavik's streets are full of trendy young people pushing prams and having coffee with their colourfully clad babies tucked under their arms. Haven't seen any yelling at little brats so far, they seem very laid back :-)
Yes, I've heard that. I read an interesting article months ago, saying that the Icalanders love to have kids, and have them young, with very fluid family set-ups.
ResponderEliminarYou looked pretty cold in the photo on the boat...is it cold in Reykjavik?
Seems so Tracey, I think they get a lot of support from the state too, and apparently there is no stigma to being a single parent (or being anything for that matter).
ResponderEliminarNo, it was windy on the boat (like on most!)but it's not cold, especially with all the outdoors paraphernalia you end up wearing, making you look like a complete tourist, hehe.
